NYG Productions is a cutting edge recording studio in the heart of East Vancouver owned and operated by platinum certified producer/engineer Nygel Asselin.

Nygel began his musical journey over 20 years ago when he picked up his first guitar. Piano, bass, and drums soon followed the self-taught musician, who continued his passion for music as an assistant engineer/producer assistant for legendary producer, GGGarth Richardson (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Rage Against the Machine). Eventually he moved on to become GGGarth’s studio partner, studio manager and head engineer at The Farm Studios.

As an award winning producer, engineer, and mixer Nygel has worked with many successful artists. Most notably producing and engineering Half Moon Run’s debut album “Dark Eyes”. Which went on to sell over 80,000 units in Canada and was officially certified platinum in the fall of 2016.

Asselin is also an accomplished songwriter and is best known for co-writing "Drifting" the lead single from On An On's sophomore album "The Wave Has Two Sides". His songs have been placed on such shows as Mary Kills People, Scream, Teen Mom, iZombie, XFactor DR, Heartbeat, Saving Hope, The Fosters and Degrassi: Next Class.

Recording Studio

The studio has taken shape in what was formerly known as Greenhouse Studio B Control Room & Lounge. It features a 6’ x 10’ drum room, a 4 x 6 amp room and a 21’ x 17’ control room.

Over the last year the studio has been re-imagined and is now fully setup to record any instrument at any time. No more sitting around while producers and engineers spend hours setting up. This gives you the ability to quickly capture any idea on any instrument when you’re feeling most inspired.
