Nygel Asselin is a producer, engineer, songwriter and arranger with over 10 years experience in the music industry. In that time he has worked with many successful artists, most notably producing and engineering Montreal indie rockers, Half Moon Run. Their debut album "Dark Eyes" went on to sell over 80,000 units in Canada, and the band was awarded the Indie Rock Album of the Year at GAMIQ in 2012 and most recently nominated for a 2016 Juno Award.

Asselin began his musical journey roughly 20 years ago when he picked up his first guitar. Piano, bass, and drums soon followed the self-taught musician, who continued his passion for music at Fanshawe College after which he secured a coveted assistant engineer position with legendary producer, GGGarth Richardson (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Rage Against the Machine).

Nygel has gone on to carve a place for himself within the industry as one of the leading producer/engineers in Canada with nominations for Album Producer of the Year and Recording and Mixing of the Year from ADISQ for his work on “Dark Eyes” and nominations for Engineer of the Year from the 2015 and 2016 WCMAs for his work on CAIRO's “A History of Reasons" and Jon Bryant's 'Twenty-Something' respectively.  He has gone on to work with Yellowknife crooner 'Matt Millz', 'Nate Eiesland' of ONANON, and Golden BC's 'Willhorse'. Originally hailing from Ontario's cottage country, Asselin now calls Vancouver home and can be found creating music in his own studio, NYG Productions at Greenhouse Studios Studio B.
